Personal Bio:
Marissa Ramirez was born and raised in California but has been in North Carolina for over ten years and considers it home. Marissa attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for undergraduate and majored in business administration and minored in sociology. During undergraduate, Marissa worked full-time as a 911 dispatcher and trained incoming 911 operators.
During law school, Marissa was a staff member and on the board of the Journal of Law and Technology, a Gressman and Pollitt Oral Advocacy Award Recipient, and continued to work as a part-time 911 operator. Marissa also interned for the Wake County District Attorney’s Office, and externed with the State Bureau of Investigations and the Federal Public Defender’s Office. After law school, Marissa was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Judge John Arrowood on the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
When not working, Marissa enjoys reading mystery novels, afternoon tea, and spending time with her two dogs, Duke & Duchess.
